Eric Owiti was born and raised in Kisumu, Kenya, there after moving to Nairobi where he furthered his education and settled.
His musical journey can be traced back to when he was as young as 4 years, when he could sing hymns and other short choruses. He later on joined the local church choir, where he nurtured his musical talent and before long, he was already singing with the church choir.
In the year 2006, Eric recorded his first Album titled “We Will Win” . The title song We Will Win is a song that gives hope to you and me, that despite what we go through in life, if we believe in Christ, he will never leave us nor forsake us. He has promised us victory and thus, We Will Win!!!
In the year 2007, Eric recorded his second album titled “Yesu Nyalo Duto” (Christ The Almighty). The album, mostly done in Luo, contain such great hits as “Bin Inindo”(Could you be sleeping), which basically talks about the last hours of Christ before he lay His life for us, when the disciples fell asleep instead of keeping vigil and praying with Christ.
In the year 2008, Eric recorded his third album titled “Na Yesu Milele”(Eternally with Jesus). This album has blessed a lot of souls with inspiring messages of hope. In the song Na Yesu Milele, it talks about the joy that it will be when we finally reign with Christ our savior forever, when we will have no sorrows or pains of this sinful world. It also contains the song “Fikira Moja Tu”(One solemn thought), that will make you feel at the feet of Christ.
In the year 2009, Eric travelled a lot, taking the good news of Christ to the hearts of many and it was not until early 2010 when he recorded his fourth album titled “Mpe Yesu Moyo Wako” (Give your Heart to Jesus).This album has a blend of ten different styles of music and has the famous Luo medley and the title track Ting’a Malo, The Lord Is My Shepherd (Psalm 23), Nitayainua Macho Milimani (Psalm 121) among other great songs.
The great African sound, the harmony, and the message on this album will encourage and lift up your spirit.
Eric is currently recording his first DVD of a compilation of all his songs. God is using him now all over the world to spread the word and reaching out through his music and his gifts. He frequently ministers in churches, crusades, revival meetings, camp meetings, youth meetings, Corporate events , schools and other places he has been called to in Africa and other parts of the world. An accomplished Keyboard and Guitar player, Eric also wants to reach out to the young upcoming artists , to help them nurtute their God given talent for proper use in the Vineyard of the Lord.
